Did you watch the Beijing Olympics? They are saying it has been the best UK Olympics for 100 years!

But did you hear about the difficulties the Irish swimming team had over their caps ?

Melanie Nocher was preparing to swim in the 200m freestyle event. However, at the last minute Olympic officials disallowed
the use of the Irish swim cap she was wearing. The size of the Irish shamrock didn’t comply with Olympic regulations. As a result, she had to wear a plain black replacement cap.

Her goggles didn’t fit as tightly to this cap, and when she dived in to the pool they filled with water. Melanie had to stop mid race to fix her goggles and lost vital seconds on her race time, finishing only 7th.

Olympic regulations limit the size of sponsors logos and symbols on the caps. Why do they have this rule? Why did the Irish team not double check the regulations before hand?

Some of you may recall the BBC TV series "Citizen Smith" featuring well known writer and broadcaster Michael Smith. Michael's latest production "DriveTime" takes a look at the way driving has changed us. He examines the way technology has shaped our lives and how life has become inconceivable without cars.

Pulse Films invited the Surepass team to take part in the production - soon to be aired on BBC TV. Our challenge was to not only put Michael through his paces behind the wheel but to share our thoughts on 21st century driving lessons. We are absolutely delighted to have been asked to showcase the Surepass talent through the media and glad to have been given the opportunity to add to what promises to be a fantastic series.
