One of the many questions we are asked on the Surepass Helpline is whether a Trainee Licence is essential in qualifying to become a Driving Instructor. The answer is a resolute "No". However there are many training establishments who see this as an opportunity to tie an Instructor into a long agreement. In fact there is a growing trend to advertise this as a benefit !
At Surepass we are able to provide bespoke training courses which enable an Instructor to pass without the need and unnecessary expense of a Trainee Licence. Here are just a few of our recent newly qualified Instructors who sailed through their qualifying exams with Surepass training alone :
Carol Dabney (Ilfracombe), Debbie Hardman (Preston), Diane Kirkpatrick (Derby), Ian Hutchinson (Bolton), Jerome Browne (Falmouth), Michael Ormisher (Prestatyn), Sean Kitching (Wetherby), Michael Ankers (Ayr), Vivienne Parker (Liverpool) and more.......
Of course, we would be delighted to talk to you about the Surepass Trainee Licence scheme and how quickly we can set you on the way to earning £41K while you qualify. But remember, there is no requirement to be a Trainee Driving Instructor, our courses are sufficient to enable you to pass straightaway. Not many training establishments can boast this acheievement.

NEW ARRIVALS - THE LATEST 08 REGISTRATION - SUREPASS GOES GREEN !!
Your Brand New 08 Vauxhall Corsa 1.3CDTi Ecoflex.
We are delighted to be one of the leading Driving Schools in the UK to offer our Instructors the latest Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 CDTi. Not only does the vehicle have all the usual features you would expect from the award winning "Driving School Car of the Year" but also contains the latest control equipment guaranteeing the lowest CO2 emissions.
Concerned about the environment and supporting the Driving Standards Agency call for an eco-friendly driving test, Surepass have introduced the new high tech Corsa in all our brand new 08 registrations. Other schools may wish to continue emitting choking exhaust fumes, harmful pollutants and greehouse gases into the environment but at Surepass we take responsibility in the communities where we teach.
Not only is the environment important but so too is fuel consumption and providing our Driving Instructors with the most cost effective vehicle. Every litre of diesel in the 08 Corsa saves 2.6kg of CO2. An average mileage of 12000 miles per year would save the Instructor over £300 in fuel. Impressed ? Contact our helpline NOW and find out how soon you could be driving away in a brand new car.
One other item - as safety conscious as ever, Surepass also include a goody bag with ALL new cars - camera, hazard warning triangle, cleaning material, tools, spare bulbs....to name a few items and ALL FREE.

January 2008
The New Year has got off to a flying start. Bouquets to Mark Crook, Michael Stewart and Ray Vaughan who flew through their recent ORDIT examinations. A special pat on the back to Michael and Ray who were awarded the coveted Grade 6 ( the highest grade possible) for their instructional ability.
Much has been written about the necessity of ORDIT, usually by the training schools who haven't received the award! The fact remains that ORDIT is the only register of recognised training establishments regularly inspected by the Driving Standards Agency. Their inspectors rigourously check the training facilities and skills of trainers to ensure that the DSAs high standards are met.

In response to the need for Continuous Professional Development we have introduced a series of Masterclasses focussing on developing the professional competencies of our Driving Instructors. This month two courses were introduced - "I came away with a lot of positive ideas, not just for check tests but also on teaching techniques". Another delegate commented "The number of tips I picked up yesterday was worth the course cost alone".

Driving Age "Rising to 18"
In a major overhaul of how young people prepare for the road, the driving age is planned to rise to 18. Making headline news in the Daily Mail on 27th December, it is reported that learner drivers will still be given a provisional licence at 17 years old but will have to take driving lessons for a year before being allowed to take a test.
The details of the new structure are to be revealed by government ministers in the new year. The newspaper goes on to report that learners may require up to 500 hours of tuition before reaching a suitable test standard.
Of course, Surepass welcomes any plans to improve road safety and allow learner drivers to master driving techniques. But, there is no better time than NOW to join the Driving Instruction profession....imagine the earning potential if you were teaching just one pupil for 500 hours.
Other news.
Congratulations to the following candidates who successfully passed their part 2 test of Advanced Driving :
Andrew Dunscombe, Gareth Arnold, Marc Loveday, Sun Wah Yung, Dyna Medicott, Tracy Wood, Paul Darbyshire, Colin Melhuish, Linda Rist, Steve Fitcher, Joanne Haywood, Len Herman.
Part 3 success
